Owsley County wrapped up their regular season at Oneida Baptist on Tuesday, ultimately falling to the Mountaineers 85-68.
The game remained competitive through the first three quarters, with OBI leading 16-13 after the first quarter, 31-30 at halftime, and 54-49 at the end of the third. However, the Mountaineers managed to create some distance in the fourth quarter, gradually expanding their lead to secure a 17-point victory.
OBI converted 8 of 10 free throws in the final quarter, shooting a good percentage from the free throw line throughout the game. The Mountaineers went 19 for 26 from the line, and Owsley was 6 for 11.
Jarred Napier led the Owls with 17 points, accompanied by 6 assists and 3 steals. Jordan McCoy scored 16 points, including 5 of 10 from behind the arc, and 4 assists. Keegan Herald contributed 15 points and 5 rebounds. Chase Pryse achieved a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Matt Wright added 4 points and 5 rebounds, while Daniel Caudell scored 2 points.
Skyler Roberts paced OBI with 24 points, and three other players scored in double figures.
The Owls' next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, against the Lee County Bobcats in the 56th District Tournament at Lee County, as part of a doubleheader featuring Powell County and Estill County in the other matchup.
