A 19-year-old Lerose man was arrested after Kentucky State Police say he threatened to burn down a family member’s home and set a fire on the front porch.
Jeremy Carter Turner, 19, of Lerose in Owsley County, was arrested by KSP on Aug. 10 and charged with third-degree arson, third-degree terroristic threatening and menacing.
According to an arrest citation, troopers responded to a complaint at a residence on Stamper Branch Road in Lerose.
Upon arrival, a homeowner told police that his nephew, Turner, had “lost control” during an argument and threatened to burn down the house.
The homeowner told troopers that Turner placed a trash can on the front porch and set it on fire. Turner also allegedly tore a screen from the front of the residence.
Troopers reportedly spoke with Turner’s grandfather, who lived in a building behind the home. The grandfather told police that Turner lived on the property and that he was unable to control him.
According to KSP, troopers located Turner in a nearby outbuilding.
Turner allegedly admitted to troopers that he set the fire, damaged the window screen and made the threats.
Turner was arrested and transported to the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville.
The charges are allegations, and Turner is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
