George Delbert Chaney, widower of Kathlene Perdue Chaney and son of the late Charlie and Alice Cole Chaney was born in Lee County, Kentucky on November 27, 1929 and departed this life in Richmond, Kentucky on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at the age of 96 years. He was a former employee of Wiser Oil. Mr. Chaney is survived by his loving children, George D. Chaney, Jr. and Cindy Chaney both of Beattyville, Kentucky, Wendy Chaney of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Billie Jean Phillips and husband Kenneth of Beattyville; a granddaughter, Sarah Phillips also of Beattyville; and one sister, Mildred Evans of Lexington, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Mae Chaney Ball. Graveside services held November 30, 2025 at Chaney Family Cemetery of Lee Co. Newnam Funeral in charge of arrangements.
